Streets2Studios. Streets2Studios’ projects focus on subsidizing or creating after school programs dedicated to advancing the creative and innovative characteristics of our youth today. With a focus on multi-media entertainment, the prospectus focuses on early intervention, mentoring, career grooming, and hands-on training for disadvantaged youth. The program serves as a catalyst to improve academics, truancy, and peer relationships through involvement in the arts. It also serves as a vehicle to bring awareness to social and civic issues surrounding life such as aids, drugs, and diversity through dance, media, and song. (

VESTIA for SPP: VESTIA for Specialized Placement Programs (SPP) provide services and goods to low-income and underprivileged families, foster children, and adults when assistance is not available from other sources. Much of the work VESTIA does is focused on children and families with children. VESTIA's goals are to: - Stabilize families, foster children, and individuals whose lives are in crisis.
- Provide goods & services to families & individuals that lack the necessities of life.
- Enhance the quality of life of the disadvantaged through educational and cultural opportunities.
VESTIA, Inc. is a private, non-profit 501c3 corporation (Taxpayer ID 94-3017952) established in 1986 working closely with Contra Costa County's Employment and Human Services Department (Social Services). For almost 20 years, VESTIA has provided a conduit to focus the desire, energy, and resources of local citizens and businesses to make a positive difference in our community. ,Event Net Proceeds will be earmarked to SPP for emancipation scholarships used to 1) assist with post program entrance into the work-force; 2) for incentive programs which include funding for driver’s Ed courses, tutoring, music/instrument lessons, art classes, and miscl necessities such as braces, contact lenses and glasses. |
Willie L. Brown Jr. Community Youth Teen Center & T.U.R.F.: T.U.R.F. (Together United Recommitted Forever) envisions an empowered and engaged community of informed and educated residents working together to develop and maintain a safe and creative environment in the Sunnydale Housing Development community. MISSION: The mission of T.U.R.F. is to impact and motivate the future leaders of Sunnydale Housing Development community to become involved in positive activities that build self-esteem, job readiness skills, and improve community life by providing access to information, education and training, recreation, support and advocacy services in a culturally relevant safe haven at the Willie L. Brown Jr. Community Youth Center. |

Contra Costa Unified School District, Richmond High, “Create your Destiny” pgm. Create Your Destiny Academy is for those students who want to create their own course of study and craft their own educational experience. The academy provides flexibility in scheduling of classes to meet the individual needs of the student. Their course of study can be very broad or very concentrated. Course work will meet A-G requirements, keep the students on track for graduation and prepare them for a 4-year college and career paths. The course work will be interdisciplinary and centered around the students’ interests and future plans. Students may choose a Performing or Visual Arts emphasis, concentrate on Advanced Placement classes, or choose interdisciplinary studies. |

Society for Second Chance Transitional Housing Initiative. Society for Second Chance provides a 24-month program which once completed will transfer participants into permanent housing. Society For a Second Chance’s mission is to reduce homelessness for families, individuals and children infected or affected with HIV/AIDS, by providing affordable housing, support, group meetings, medical care referrals and transportation assistance. We also endeavor to provide life skills training, educational workshops and employment opportunities for this population. |
